Behind the Scenes: photo shoot

As we worked towards our goal of producing our first EP, we had some awesome opportunities along the way. One of which was to work with Lindsey Plevyak, an amazing local photographer who just so happened to be in town briefly in between her work with Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC. While we've had the chance to have some press photos shot in the past, Lindsey brought her unique flavor to the shoot, which very much jived with us. We thought there would be no better way to see some of the fun that we had during this shoot than to show you just a few of the behind the scences shots captured by our guitarist's wife Jess (who is a great photographer in her own right). Hope you enjoy the shots and don't forget to check out our other blog which has the final press photos that Lindsey worked to hard on.

Here is a little bit about Lindsey's vision for her photography. We think she achieved her goal...

My primary subject matter has always been people. I have been captivated by portraiture for as long as I can remember. There is something about portraying human expression that I find most compelling and strive to incorporate in my work. Through the use of photography, I am always seeking to truly capture the essence of the individual. I attempt to build rapport with those whom I am photographing, in hopes of allowing the viewer to catch a glimpse into the heart of that person. I challenge myself to avoid just simply photographing someone, but rather make others care about the subject. I am an artist who does not wish to project myself through my work, but to truly highlight those around me. Everyone has a story to share. I feel that my role as an artist is simply the storyteller.
